Daily Work Blunders
It was another slow day at work, as we had no leftover stock to unbox and sort through. My temp manager had me doing busy work when I came in, mostly moving sorted stock from leftover cardboard, into clear plastic bins. We suddenly have an influx of bins now, which is great and long overdue.
Unfortunately, I had a little incident (a $60 incident, to be exact), when I accidentally dropped a bin of glass decorations. My store manager came in just as I was tidying up, so I told her. And she told me to tell the temp, so that inventory could be corrected. And the temp...just gave me a funny look and told me to put the remaining too items out on the floor.
I think she may have misheard me or assumed I took care of it? Regardless, I did as she said, choosing to trust her expertise. Just a pro-tip to any future managers: always double check with your staff, cause it might bite you in the ass in the future. Or maybe $60 isn't that big a deal, I don't know.
Our store manager later asked me if I was able to work Sundays, which I thought was hilarious. I said no, naturally. As I'll be working five straight days starting next week, I hate the idea of working six in a row. I did that a lot at Walmart and hated every second of it. It's bad for the feet and my mental health. Also, Sundays were the one day of the week I had alone with my partner for the last few months.
It's non-negotiable, as far as I am concerned.
But yeah, that was my (boring) day. I'm going to spend the rest of my time catching up on writing, edits, and some video games. I gotta rest up for my last working Saturday.
