Day 4 — Look Ma, No Hands!
Things in fact have gotten better! Though there were some rough patches, particularly with my meds. I stopped taking oxycodone last night because I realized it was the root cause for much of my troubles.
With oxy, I noticed I had vision problems (particularly doubling and lack of focus), experienced fatigue and constipation. I had my first bowel movement after three days.
We've got a litany of OTC pain killers, so I'm not completely left in the dark here. Any pain I have is minimal and regards sensitivity around the exterior of my nose. Cold air and masks have been a bit rough on me, but I'm gonna need the latter when I go out today. I may or may not wear a bandage to help lessen the strain, but that remains to be seen.
But in general, I don't need the bandage under my nose anymore. The blood flow seems to have stopped, so anything now is mostly old blood being washed away. I'm still working on getting the crusting under control, but I can't be too aggressive about it. Beyond that, I have little to say about this experience.
My next update will come with major developments, like my follow up appointment next week. That's when I should be getting my stents removed. And I am looking forward to it!
