Funemployment And Catching Up

It's been a while, huh? Ignoring the horrors of country at the moment, I've been enjoying my time off and away from work. So much so that I haven't felt the need to journal or complain as much as I have been doing for the last few weeks. My money is starting to run out, sadly, but I am doing surveys and other small gigs for cash.

Money aside, I've been taking this time to catch up on my favorite shows, read, and edit my WIPs. And now that it's finally warming up, I've made it a goal to go out and walk for at least thirty minutes. Allergens have been low lately, so I don't mask when I go out. It's good to reset and see how far I've come along with managing my allergies, which used to give me horrendous sinus headaches and infections. I even bumped into an old coworker (different job), and we caught up and talked about micromanaging and how retired people need to find hobbies and purpose. It was really nice!

Not so nice: the current political landscape and the growing need to flee Ohio. It's really hard to think about my future when President Krasnov is establishing himself as a dictator. But I likely won't be moving until summer at the earliest, so I'll have to find a part-time job before then. Having extra cash will be tremendously helpful when moving across the country or fleeing America altogether (less likely).

But anyway, I went from deep fear to...relaxed. Not compliant or adapting to the storm, but recognizing that Krasnov and all the other fascists want us to be scared and immobile. Fuck that. I've been keeping informed and finding good news among the bad. Other people are fighting too, and Canada has been combating the tariffs. If we don't fight now, nothing will get better.

We have to have hope and work together to overcome fascism.
