New Month, New Manager

So, we got a new manager earlier this month, but I didn't meet her until last week, when she was being trained. And I haven't seen the temp manager since Friday, so safe to say it's official! Good riddance, honestly. Working with someone who doesn't know how to communicate was extremely frustrating for me. I was expected to know things or mind read, the latter of which was baffling.

Anyway, this new manager is still learning a lot herself, but she's easier to work with for sure. It also helps that she's older, I guess? I do have some complaints, but nothing too substantial or worth ranting about. Just small things I can work through and won't keep me up at night!

We got four pallets yesterday, and with the store manager's help, managed to clear all four. It's amazing what you can do, when your coworkers aren't goofing off and non-stop talking. Whoever said women talk more than guys was fooling themselves or heavily insulated. My male coworkers could not sit still in silence!

Today is also the day my new coworker starts. All I know is that it's a dude (no surprise there, really) and possibly white? Assuming it's the same person I saw at the training computer the other day. I only mention race because my job is primarily staffed by Black people, including managers. So this guy will stand out for sure.

I just hope he's cool and doesn't like small talk. I'm happy to chat, just about things I'm actually passionate about and not just...filler. But there's no point in worrying about it right now. I have enough going on as is.

Update, Jan 17th:

I was waaay off. The new coworker is an older Black gentleman. He's also pretty chatty and likes cracking jokes. Unfortunately, I was overstimulated so wasn't of great help. But I was right about him being cool and easy to work with.
