Off To A Rocky Start
Bah. It was just as I feared…I'm the only one working the new shift. The place was empty when I came in this morning, and I learned an hour or two later that my coworkers were all doing markdowns.
I had a very boring shift, boxing up old merchandise. Fortunately, there was almost enough to keep me busy throughout my shift. Unfortunately, that's because I was the only one doing said task. And with my coworkers busy collecting clothes from the sales floor, I was rather overwhelmed for a while.
I was worried we'd be getting a truck today, but none came. But it's only Monday, so anything can happen. And I really hope I'm not stuck doing it all by myself.
This whole thing strikes me as funny…our store manager intended for more of us to switch over, so that we could all knock out several pallets in one day. Bur how the hell can we do that, when I'm the only one working the evening shift?!
And forgot about not working weekends! There's bound to be leftover stock, so someone will have to come in on Saturdays. Which again…defeats the point of this little switcheroo.
I changed my availability for this, so it's very frustrating all around. I refuse to charge it again or work weekends. But hey…I'm still looking for jobs elsewhere. Just gotta rough it out for a bit.
