Pokemon, Diet, and Overall Health
Starting small, with diet!
Cutting down on my meat consumption has been easy. I was slightly tempted to order chicken in a wrap when we ordered out, but it was easy to suppress. Instead, I settled for the healthier option: a veggie wrap with hummus, rice, black beans, romaine lettuce, and onions, yum! Reminding myself of texture issues I have with meat helped, too. Dodged a potentially disappointing meal for a new favorite.
Less fun news:
While I don't outright miss Pokemon Go, I'm noticing how much it influenced my walks or time browsing shops. I could never be in the moment because I was so transfixed by my phone, yikes!
For example, I thought of the poke stops behind and around the library, while we were visiting this weekend. Past me would try to spin them all, and keep a close watch on the timer, so I could spin again. It was worse at the mall, which is littered with stops and gyms.
So I'm in no rush to return or pick up similar apps. I want to be present and aware of my surroundings when out in public, especially now that Trump's brown shirts are roaming the streets, like giant disease infested roaches…
On to the least fun stuff!
My nose has been healing well, and soon I'll cease the use of ointment, something I've used in tandem with nasal sprays since April…my nose has been less tender, too. Success! And no more gross boogers.
I wish I could say it's been smooth sailing with weaning off Zoloft, but I had several days of misery as my body adapts to the lessening dosage. That's been the hardest thing lately. Well. One of.
You see, I kinda fucked up my knees and back. Not enough to warrant surgery, but it made walking and even sitting a pain. I had to elevate my legs during that first week, and used cold compresses throughout the day.
I've had to put my workouts on hold for the month, sadly. I'm seeing my doctor soon to see if there's anything I need to know beyond what I've experienced, and maybe get additional help if things turn sour. I have a sneaking suspicion that my treatment will involve more rest, which I’ve been doing for what feels like three weeks now…
Sigh. But better to hear it from a professional and be checked for other things, than to rely on Dr. Google and screw my body up even more.
