Slow Reading
This year, I've decided to take a more laid back approach to reading. For me, that means reading from my e-reader, rather than consuming audiobooks (within reason, of course), as is my habit. I love and strongly advocate for audiobooks, but not all of the books I want to read or have are in that format. Plus, I do like reading in a format close to how I read as a child and teen. E-readers are just more convenient and easier to carry around, especially while moving homes.
I still have my Kindle Paperwhite (I've had several iterations of Kindles over the years), but only use it for books I haven't read, and maybe for the rare book I can't find elsewhere. But I prioritize my Kobo these days, which I bought as a replacement. And I am very tempted to buy one of their color models. Maybe after they work out a few kinks, as my Kobo is still pretty new. I've only had it for two years, after all.
There are a few books I'm especially eager to read this year, mostly from my ever growing backlog of books, such as the Post-Self series by Madison Rye Progress. At the moment, I'm reading Insomnia by Stephen King, and will dive into a few audiobooks after. I'm trying to alternate while giving myself room to breathe, so to speak.
